What the name means
The phrase "be back soon" was a note the artist wrote to himself during a hard year. Not "gone forever." Not "quitting." A promise to come back when the work was ready. Once he was back, he named the shop after the promise.
The brand ethos comes directly from that year: "Stepping away is not about giving up — it is about taking the time to rebuild, rediscover, and realign with oneself." That sentence sits under every piece we ship.
A canvas is whatever you can paint on
Most artists lock into one surface. This one refused to. Painting on stretched canvas is different from painting on denim is different from painting on leather is different from designing a digital edition. Each surface teaches something the others cannot.
The shop reflects the practice: original paintings sit next to hand-painted jackets sit next to accessible digital editions sit next to full custom commissions. If you like the work, there is a piece at almost every price point.
The studio, today
The current studio is in Montreal. Small, north-facing window, tools organized by frequency of use rather than category (the well-worn rule of any working studio). No assistants — every piece is the artist's hand start-to-finish. Commissions happen in the same room as the shop pieces; the buyer of an original is buying the exact object the artist stood over.
The catalog updates in irregular drops. When a piece is ready, it goes up. When commissions are open, the brief form opens. When the studio needs to step away and rebuild, the shop's announcement bar tells you.
Where to start
If you are new here: the shop's five mediums are a good way to enter — original paintings for the collector, hand-painted apparel for the wearer, accessories for the mixer, digital editions for the print-your-own crowd, custom work for anyone with something specific in mind. Every piece is one of one or clearly-labelled otherwise.
